I can read articles but random unrelated audio (from the app) starts playing whilst using it.

This app is missing dark-mode, and it is slow to load. When you are reading a story and briefly exit and return to the app, there is a decent chance the story you were on will not load again, and you'll have to go find it. When I click a link from the newsletter or sent by a friend, the app tells me to become a subscriber, even though I already am. It's sad, and really makes me wonder if it's worth purchasing another year of subscription if it's going to be a hassle to access the stories.

Finally, a dark mode! Edit: Spoke too soon, it doesn't really work that well on the Games section as both the crossword and other games are still blindingly bright.

I subscribed to the New Yorker several days ago and have yet to access any articles. On the website they are still paywalled, and on the app no content will load. I have to recommend against anyone subscribes to a Condé Nast publication, as their mobile experience is appalling and their customer service can't fix it.
