Description
Tipitaka for Android is an app for reading the Theravada Buddhist Pali Tipitaka, commentaries and sub-commentaries in Pali. It is suitable for advanced students of the Pali language, as it does not include English translations. It does have several Pali-English dictionaries.

Tipitaka files are taken from the VRI tipitaka here:

On first run, the app will download the required database file (20+ MB). That's the only time it uses the Internet; there are no ads, etc. If it doesn't download the database properly, download the file here:

put it in your sd card directory and unpack it with a file manager.

This app has been inexplicably useful to me in pāli studies, thank you so much Bhante. One question: is it normal that the ATI archives won't download anymore? Is there any workaround? Downloading the archives from ATI and linking the path didn't work

I gave it 5 stars to help perpetuate the Dharma. The app says there is an error downloading the English database. I'll try the website, I think I saw the epub there. Ven. As others have noted, English is unavailable - you get an error message when you attempt to download/install it. So unless you are (already) fully fluent in Pali, this will be of absolutely no use to you.

I am using this, application for about 5 years and more but for the last 6 months, it is unusable. I uninstall the application but when I try to download the application the message shows that that device is not computable for this version, although I was using the application in the, same device. Pl do needful and update version J P Verma
