Tulm Trays

Before you take a seat in the beaded parlour, here is what is waiting on the velvet.

THE TABLE
✓ Two lacquer trays, each showing one open card
✓ A 40-card beaded deck: Peony, Lozenge, Leaf and Star, numbered 1 to 9, plus four Lantern wilds
✓ One hand of seven cards for you, one for the hostess across the table
✓ Each motif has its own bead shape as well as its own colour, so cards read at a glance

THE RULES, IN FOUR TICKS
✓ Lay a card on either tray when it matches that tray's motif or number
✓ A card that fits both trays at once is a bridge: lay it and take another turn straight away
✓ A Lantern fits anywhere, and you pick the motif that tray takes next
✓ No match? Draw one from the stock, then lay it if it fits or pass

Empty your hand first to take the round. Two rounds win the match.

THE STREET
✓ Four shophouses, five hostesses in each, twenty matches in all
✓ Each win opens the next seat along the five-foot way
✓ Later hostesses hold their Lanterns, chase bridges and notice which motifs you are missing
✓ Up to three beads per hostess: one for the win, one for a clean 2–0, one for two or more bridges

BETWEEN MATCHES
✓ A daily deal against the daily guest, with a streak that grows each day you win it
✓ A cabinet of twelve beaded slipper patterns, unlocked by the beads you string
✓ The pattern you choose becomes the back of every card in your deck

AT THE TABLE
✓ Cards fly, flip and settle with a little squash when they land
✓ Bridges thread a string of beads between the trays
✓ Back opens a pause screen, never an exit
✓ Settings for Sound, Haptics and Reduce motion

✓ Offline by design: the street, your beads and the daily streak are saved on this phone, with no sign-in, no adverts and no shop
