Melodrill is the free instrument tuner, metronome and drone, drawn like a sheet from a luthier's workbench. Three practice tools in one beautiful app, in light or dark. Tune, keep time, train your ear, and play.

Pick your instrument and Melodrill draws its headstock: guitar, violin, ukulele, banjo, bass or cello, with every string ready to tune. Play a note and the right string vibrates, the pencil shows exactly how many cents sharp or flat you are, and the "IN TUNE" stamp lands when you nail it.

INSTRUMENT TUNER: PRECISE TO THE CENT
Melodrill hears your pitch in real time and shows the note and its offset in cents. Tune with a sliding steel rule, or switch to a ±100 cents dial. Clear words guide you: "Tune up", "Tune down", "In tune". The string's colour turns green when you are within 10 cents.

GUIDED TUNING, STRING BY STRING
Standard tunings for guitar, ukulele, banjo, bass, violin and cello. Melodrill snaps to the closest string automatically. Tap a peg to lock one string, tap it again to release.

CHROMATIC WHEEL FOR EVERY INSTRUMENT
Brass, woodwinds, voice, piano, anything: the chromatic wheel shows all 12 notes around a ring with a needle on your exact pitch and the octave in the centre. Tap any note, sharps included, to lock onto it.

PITCH GRAPH: SEE YOUR INTONATION
Turn on the graph to watch the last 10 seconds of your pitch drawn as a line. Hold a note and the chart zooms in to ±100 cents, so every wobble in a long tone or a vibrato shows.

METRONOME WITH TAP TEMPO
40 to 240 BPM with Italian tempo names. Drag the tempo rule, use − and +, or tap the tempo in. Choose the time signature and subdivision (8ths, triplets, 16ths), tap a beat to make it accented, normal or silent, and pick a click: Wood Block, Electronic, Digital, Cowbell or Drumstick.

PITCH DRONE: TRAIN YOUR EAR
Play a sustained reference note in any octave from 2 to 7, with a piano, guitar, trumpet or violin tone. Practise intonation, scales and arpeggios over a tonal centre, or tune by ear.

A4 REFERENCE OF YOUR CHOICE
Standard 440 Hz, Concert Bb 392, Baroque 415, Verdi 432, International 435 or High 442. Premium unlocks any custom frequency.
