★★★★★
As a self-described tuning fanatic, my love for this app runs deep. Two features set it apart: i) Its undulating wave visualization is a marvelous ingenuity, calmly revealing the tiniest fluctuations in pitch over time. Traditional strobes are as precise but lack the time component. Bouncing needles are far less precise and are overstimulating to boot. ii) The concurrent 2nd and 3rd harmonics displays provide insight to an instrument's timbre (I've found that on "sweeter-sounding" instruments the harmonics are close in pitch to the fundamental and vice versa). These two features are, in my view, the reason Tuner Time is so good for precision-tuning tasks like setting intonation. The FFT mode and tone generator are icing on the cake. I also like how reliably it attracts the like-minded and repels the "close enough" crowd. Criticisms? Sure: a) I wish it had an autorange mode so that I didn't have to constantly reach down and tap 'semi+" and "semi-". At least in a preset tuning mode, where the desired pitches are predefined and distinct enough from one another. b) It's not really a strobe in any traditional sense. Overall, this is as comprehensive and useful a tuner as ever there was. Heaps of praise.

Anyone who gives this app less than 5 stars is probably a professional piano tuner who is afraid you will no longer need their services. With a budget tuning hammer set I was able to tune my 100-year-old Apollo baby grand on the first try, and now it sounds brilliant! I also have a nice 12-string guitar and using this app I was able to get absolutely perfect tuning, which was pretty much impossible using the tuner in my DAW. Thank you.
★★☆☆☆
I'd give this a zero rating if I could. A tuner it is **not**. I was expecting strobe wheels to move in one direction if sharp, in the opposite direction if flat, and to stand still if in tune. Totally useless for me, a trombonist.

Not clear how to use this for piano tuning
