I just finished, and I have to say that I don't get some of the other reviews. If you turn on storyteller mode it gives you the World of Darkness sheets and tells you every stat and roll. This game wasn't quite as intense as some Hunter: The Vigil TTRPGs I've been a player in, but this felt like the origin story of hunter (or something else I have to imagine by some of the choices I didn't take). Honestly, I can't recommend this enough. Thoroughly enjoyable.

In this story you are not a vampire at all but the town itself has a vampire infestation. The biggest issue with this story is that the ending is less developed than the beginning and some stats are far less useful than others. The characters are all distinct and there are multiple endings which leads to decent replayability. Even with the less developed ending this story is one of the better choice games on here. It's a well written short story with interesting characters.

It's just bad. The game makes you think you're going to be a proper vampire hunter, but that's just a joke. You spend more time feeling like a blabbering idiot than someone out to hunt a vampire. The game desperately tries to make the obviously evil main villain look good, but it never works. The writing is atrocious and the characters are boring. You're given a bunch of states you'll never use. The idea of learning about the vampires and hunting them had so much potential, and was wasted.

I regret buying this game. The writing is decent, but not good enough to make up for the flaws. The story is pulling in too many directions at once - touching on a lot of points which are never explored adequately or at all, including some of the mechanics itself (store management for example). Some characters are introduced and then there's barely a chance to interact with them later on... And some stats/choices are completely useless and bring nothing at all into the game.

Too much going on with not enough development. Lots of skills and stats either have near no use, and it's hard to see where many traits impact the story. You also get a bunch of stats regarding the state of your shop, e.g. stock, display items, marketing. This gives the impression that these will change, and you can build up the business over some time, but you are only given one opportunity to really interact with it. Lots of rough writing around Chastain and the thin bloods as well.
