Description
Verity is a free news app created by the Improve the News Foundation (ITN), an apolitical American non-profit. It aims to counter pressure from political forces and click-maximizing AI that have resulted in a news environment with bias, omissions, polarization, and "alternative facts". Verity’s aim is to empower people to discover the complete and nuanced truth behind every major news story. It does this by separating facts from narratives. This even includes “nerd narratives” from the Metaculus forecasting community. Verity is also a powerful news aggregator facilitating viewing news from multiple perspectives.

Great app that gives you control over the media you consume. The sliders let you adjust for political stance (left vs. right) and establishment stance (critical or pro). It’s fun and insightful to play with the sliders and see what “the other side” thinks. The app is easy to use and has a wide range of news sources. I really love the little box in the lower left corner of every article which tells you the political and establishment stances of that piece.

Fantastic app to replace all news apps! There is really no reason to use any other news source instead of Improve the News. The headlines are aggregated and things I care about are categorized cleanly. As you know, the revolution comes with the sliders. You can see what the other viewpoints are on the breaking news stories and easily browse through different opinions to break your filter bubble. It’s been a long year with news media becoming even more partisan and dividing us. Improve the News offers a fantastic tool to break out of your filter bubble.

How do I get rid of the annoying orange blob. Where is the speech option located?, this app is USA local orientated, no option for regional news focus, such as Europe, for instance

This app frequently crashes. I move the sliders from one axis to another (the left axes has critical establishment and whereas the right axes has pro establishment. Some articles appear for both critical and pro establishment)
