Vocab Trainer: Flashcard Maker

This vocab trainer turns your word lists into flashcards and quizzes you the way you like: flip, type, multiple choice, match the pairs, or listen. It is made for word lists with German on one side, such as English–German or French–German. Snap the word list in your own textbook and the words are recognized right on your device. Everything works offline. No account, no ads, no subscription.

Scan instead of typing:
• Take a photo of the page, pick an image from your gallery, or open a PDF.
• Check the recognized pairs: edit, delete, or add. The list is only created after that.
• Word forms and phonetic spelling from the book come along onto the card.
• For scanning there is an allowance of scan cards that refills every month; typing words in always works.

Study and quiz:
• Leitner box: words you know come up less often, words you miss come back sooner.
• Quiz modes: flip the card, type the answer, multiple choice, match the pairs, listening practice.
• Typing hints: first letter, scrambled letters, and a bar for special characters.
• Forgiving checks: small typos, upper and lower case, and articles can be let go. If the app was too strict, you can still count an answer as correct.
• Choose the direction, shuffle if you like, skip a card or go back.
• Practice freely before a test without changing your progress, or study only the hard cards.
• Mark words you already know, archive learned ones, and pause with vacation mode.

Listen:
• Offline pronunciation in the voice of each language, with a choice of voice and speed, and optional auto-play when a card is revealed.
• Listening mode reads a whole list aloud, even with the screen locked.

Organize and import:
• Folders like your book, for example book, unit, and page. Move, duplicate, search, and flag lists.
• Quiz several lists together, with no card limit.
• Add a note, memory hook, or example sentence to any card, and principal parts for Latin and French.
• Import from Excel sheets (.xlsx), CSV, and exports from other flashcard apps, including .apkg decks.
• Back up all lists and images to a file, so moving to a new phone just works.

Track your progress:
• Statistics: cards per box, cards learned per day, study time, and your quiz history, plus a simple study streak.
• A reminder at the time you pick, but only when cards are actually due, with their number.
• A home screen widget with the cards due and a word of the day.

FAQ

Which languages work?
Languages written in the Latin alphabet, such as English, French, Spanish, Italian, or Latin, each paired with German. The app always quizzes you between the foreign language and German.

Can I scan the vocabulary list from my school textbook?
Yes. Photograph the word list of a unit. The app reads each word and its translation and builds a list that you check first.

Do I have to scan?
No. You can also add words by hand or import them from a spreadsheet, and edit them at any time.

Do I need internet or an account?
No. The app works entirely on your device and has no accounts.

What if a word is recognized wrongly?
You see every pair before it is saved and can change or delete it.
