Volumes Speed Reading App

You want to read faster. So does everyone. But most speed reading apps only measure how fast your eyes move across the page. They measure looking, not reading. They never ask whether you understood what you read. That is a vanity metric disguised as progress.
Volumes measures both. After each reading session, a short comprehension check tests what you actually took in. Your speed is multiplied by your understanding to give you one honest number. When that number goes up, you are genuinely reading better, not just skimming faster.
Three ways to read, your way. RSVP displays one word at a time so your eyes stay still and your focus sharpens. Smart Chunking groups words into natural phrases for fluid, natural reading. Standard mode is traditional reading with your speed and comprehension tracked. Switch between them whenever you like.
We built Volumes for every kind of reader. OpenDyslexic font and Irlen tinted overlays are built in from the start, not hidden away. And they are free for every user, not locked behind a paywall. Gradual speed ramp-up after pauses. A streak counter you can switch off entirely. Whether you are dyslexic, ADHD, a visual processor or a traditional reader, Volumes adapts to how your brain works, not the other way round.
Remember what you read, not just that you read it. Finish a text and Volumes checks what you remember 24 hours later, then after 7 days, then 30. Three light touches that reveal how much actually stuck. That gap between what you understood immediately and what you retained a month later is the most useful number in the app.
Bring your own reading or explore ours. Import PDFs, web articles or scan physical books with your camera. Or browse The Reading Room: a small collection of public-domain texts with hand-crafted learning journeys that take you through the books and help you really understand them.
Your data stays yours. Reading data is stored on your device. Cloud sync is opt-in. We never see what you read. Free readers see occasional ads between sessions, never during reading. Premium removes all advertising and unlocks the full curated library.
