vvd world

vvd is one workspace for the worlds you build and the stories you tell in them.

Most worldbuilding lives in five places at once: a wiki here, a map there, a folder of names, and a separate document with the actual chapters. vvd keeps them on one set of documents, so a change in one place shows up everywhere else.

BUILD THE WORLD
• Cards for every character, place, faction, item and creature — with your own fields and your own types
• Maps with pins, regions and links straight back to the cards
• Timelines and eras: keep several versions of the same world without forking it
• An infinite canvas for sketching, boards and relationship webs
• Tables and sheets for the numbers — inventories, stat blocks, prices, populations
• Link anything to anything with @mentions, and see what connects to what

TELL THE STORY
• Quill, a focused writing space for chapters and scenes, with the world open beside it
• Notes, documents and rich pages that embed blocks from any other tool
• Publish a wiki from the world you already built — there is no second copy to maintain

TOGETHER, OR ALONE
• Real-time collaboration with live cursors and presence
• Invite collaborators into a world, or share a read-only link
• Local-first: typing never waits for the network, and everything syncs when it returns

MAKE IT YOURS
• Workshop — install tools other people built, or build and publish your own
• Per-world themes, and a dark, quiet interface that stays out of the way

BUILT FOR THE TABLET
Large touch targets, long-press menus, drag between panels, stylus drawing on the canvas, and a side-by-side layout that uses the whole screen.
