Description

Walk Together turns your phone into a personal audio receiver
for live guided walks, tours, and events.

When your guide starts a session, simply scan their QR code —
or enter the link they share — and you'll instantly hear the
live audio stream through your phone's speaker. No account
needed. No setup. Just tap and listen.

HOW IT WORKS

Your guide runs the Walk Together admin app and starts a live
audio session. You join it in seconds by scanning a QR code.
The app connects automatically and starts playing the live
stream. When the guide ends the session, the stream stops.

DESIGNED FOR REAL-WORLD USE

Walk Together works in two modes depending on how your event
is set up:

• Local mode — connects directly to your guide over Wi-Fi,
with no internet required. Ideal for museum tours, indoor
events, and anywhere with a local network.

• Cloud mode — connects over the internet so listeners can
join from anywhere. Great for outdoor city walks, large
events, and mixed groups.

The app detects which mode to use automatically based on the
link or QR code you scan.

STAYS PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND

Lock your screen, switch apps, take a photo — the audio keeps
playing. Playback controls appear in your notification shade
and on your lock screen so you can pause and resume without
opening the app.

OPTIMISED FOR MUSIC AND HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO

Walk Together is built for music streaming, not phone calls.
It uses stereo Opus audio at the highest quality WebRTC
supports, with all voice-call processing disabled so the
sound stays clean and full.

RECONNECTS AUTOMATICALLY
If your connection drops — you walk into a dead zone, your
phone switches networks, or the guide's stream briefly
interrupts — Walk Together reconnects on its own without you
having to do anything.

It pairs with a separate broadcaster app run by a tour guide and plays the live audio stream.

Permissions used:
• Camera — QR code scanning only, no images stored
• Notifications — required to keep audio playing in the background
