Most people probably don't have a wd live TV player. But this is a great app takes a second to find it after setup it works perfectly. Hope and wish wd will bring players back. I can't stand people telling me about roku. Smart tvs and some tvs have roku or are like roku even xfinity x1! Wd player can do way more. Any media you have it will play.

I don't seem to have the problems others are having with this. I lost the physical remote for my WD TV Live box, so this APP was very useful and works fine for me. Tip = If you lose your "proper" remote and need to set up your WD TV live box, simply plug a normal USB computer keyboard into it = it works and allows you to enter your network details etc.

Requires wifi, rather than using onboard irda (infrared, like on remotes), from device, Android has a class or function call for this, please use it? Cannot even choose device without being attached to wifi. If I have a few of these in different rooms, all on same network, I'd like each to signal different ones based on where I point my phone. I'd also like for friends/guest-networked phones to work without adding them to a more secure side of my networks where things like media shares may lay vulnerable.

regularly cannot find media player and fails to connect. we have 2 players and only way to switch is to uninstall and reinstall app.

Without the ability to turn on the WD Live from this remote app, this app is worthless Now I'm forced to get off the couch to do it. If that's the case, why have a remote app at all?
