Comments on Wear Casts: Podcasts and MP3 for Android

★★★★☆ Zhongqi Li · Jul 21, 2024

It is almost impossible to transfer large files or lots of files to the watch. I managed to transfer the files using another way to my watch. But the app refuses to keep sync between my manually transferred files and the files on the phone. It should be pretty easy to resolve. Before actually transferring the files you just need to compare the md5 and no need to transfer the files again if the md5 matches, but still keep the link between the files.

★★★★★ Mark Sargent · Dec 11, 2024

Fantastic app. Works perfectly on my Google Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel 8. Syncs playback position every time. The interface and workflow on my watch beats all other Wear OS podcast apps I've tried (e.g. Spotify, Pocket casts).

★★★★☆ Kim Davies · Nov 19, 2025

As of Nov. 18th I'm not able to connect phone with Pixel 6a watch. Often even after restarting phone. Worked OK until recently. I paid for the app. Hope it gets fixed! I'll report back if it does and will then increase rating. Please fix! P.S. I did find that I can transfer podcasts if the watch is hooked to a charger.

Inconsistent and Awkward...don't bother This app needs alot of work. Downloading podcasts to Smartwatches is awkward and inconsistent. Even then it's a big "if" the download was successful. AND you have to disable Bluetooth on your watch in order to download! And downloading is SLOW! App was tested on Samsung Watch 7 and a Pixel watch. You’re better off with a music streaming service that supports downloading podcasts to smartwatches.

★★☆☆☆ Ben Tio · Jan 13, 2026

Gui is unintuitive for both pixel watch 4 and in phone. 'Latest' doesn't sort by latest, doesn't show up on the watch face 'complications', podcast controls on watch disappear There are some positives, but may need to go back to Spotify

★★☆☆☆ Eddie Epstein · Jul 24, 2025

Paid version was working well, but no longer can download from Pixel 9 phone to Pixel 2 watch. For the first couple months 50 MB mp3 files would download in about 30 sec using Wi-Fi. As of last week, when the wear casts app began saying it needed "nearby share feature" it does not work with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Playback works well, but cannot add new content.

★☆☆☆☆ Jerome Westmaas · Mar 29, 2026

Silly me bought the premium version, songs play for a cpl mins then stops constantly stating there's a playback error! Save your money!
