Webscorer Race & Lap Timer

★★★★★ Handles different events well I've been using Web scorer PRO on Android since the beta and have timed close to 100 track races on it as well as several cyclocross events. While there were a few bugs in the first release that caused problems, the app has been a great tool for our group and has allowed rapid posting of results. Web scorer support is extremely quick to reply to questions and issues. They have pointed me to the best way to use the app and are open to considering new features and enhancements. The yearly charge is high for an app, but you are really getting much, much more than a one piece of software. I'm hoping to see some new capabilities for non-timed events (like point races) and would like the web interface to be a bit smoother but all in all this is worth the price.

★★★★★ Perfect for medium size events without the expense of chip timing I have organized off-road events for 3 years and was looking at either buying or hiring in chip timing services but Web scorer handles all the complexities of a chip timed race from a couple of tablets. Having recorded race results on pen and paper this using Web scorer saved a lot of time after the race. We are also not in the position to being able to afford chip timing easily but with a well organized finish team, web scorer does it for you. The app is extremely well thought through with the array of race set up options and results posting options. Some serious thought has gone into this. We timed a race of 600 runners (in 2 waves) on 2 tablets, 1 for male and 1 for female runners and got 90% of runners numbers as they crossed the line and easily filled in the blanks or 'No Bib' athletes after the race. This was only our first time using the app, and I am sure we will get even better with time. At a price of just $50usd for up to 5 devices for 1 year it represents superb value, especially when you consider this would hire you just 20 chips for 1 event.

★★☆☆☆ I am preloading all the information right now for an event on Saturday and accidentally started the event. So I thought why not end it and just restart it since I have everything in already. Apparently you can't do that so all the bibs I put in were useless. Luckily the names kept, but I had to reput all the bibs in one by one because it wouldn't just save the bib number as I pushed the left or right button. I have to do every time to save something in the app, or it will erase. Not very happy.

★★☆☆☆ A necessary tool to register for races online, but the app does absolutely nothing for you. Even though you create and account and use it to register for races or view the results, the app does not track races that you register in, and does not track your results. Why?! There are tutorials that tell you how to do these things yourself, but the app is basically the opposite of intuitive, so I didn't even bother reading any of them.

★★☆☆☆ I can't emphasize enough how unfriendly this is to use. They build a good advertisement, but the application is not intuitive at all. We got it for our venue, in which we need to have volunteers running the clock, and we simply can't train volunteers on this day of. Definitely do not use this if there is any chance of day of registration. And no, refunds don't exist despite what you may read online. It's essentially a scam, just an overpriced stopwatch.
