WhisperLite: Data Saver Chat

WhisperLite is a private messenger built to use as little data as possible. Chat, send photos and make voice and video calls on roaming, weak signal, in-flight Wi-Fi or a small data plan, anywhere in the world.

MESSAGING IS FREE, FOREVER
Messages, voice and video calls, group calls and backups are free for everyone, with no limits on messaging.

BARELY ANY DATA
• Video calls on Data saver use under 1.8 MB a minute, both ways together
• Voice calls use about 0.3 MB a minute
• Photos are squeezed before sending and load only when you tap them
• Switch call quality any time: Data saver, Balanced or Full HD
• See exactly how much data you use and save, chat by chat

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Messages, photos, voice messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted. Only the people in a chat can read it, not even the WhisperLite team
• No phone number or email needed. Just pick a name
• Verify encryption with a QR code or a 60-digit security code
• PIN lock, fingerprint or face unlock, and screenshot protection
• The server keeps messages for only 30 days, so every phone can receive them. After that, they live only on your phones

EASY TO START
• Start a chat by sharing a link or a QR code
• Groups with invite links, join approval and admin controls
• Group voice and video calls with up to 8 people
• Works in 15 languages

MADE FOR WEAK SIGNAL
• Unsent messages keep trying by themselves and send as soon as there is signal
• Calls reconnect when you switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data
• Satellite mode, a daily data limit and Quick Sync for very costly connections (Premium)

MAKE IT YOURS
• Avatars in every skin tone, an avatar maker, or your own photo
• Light, dark and OLED themes and chat bubble colours
• Quick emoji, reactions, polls, location sharing and voice messages

OPTIONAL PREMIUM
Extras for people who want more: Satellite mode, Quick Sync, a daily data limit, disappearing messages, encrypted cloud backup, HD photos and videos, a second account and more. Messaging stays free and unlimited.
