Comments on WiFi File Server Pro for Android

★★★★★ Perfect This is the best file transfer app out there. I have tried many and this one is hands down the best WiFi app. It is a lot easier than connecting your cable. Just open the browser and login to the phone. Perfect

★★★★★ Provides secure file transfer I was looking for a capability to securely transfer files from various laptops to my various cell phones. With this app, I can safely do this in a United Club, or even a Starbucks. The app enforces strong, one-time passwords, and provides Https:// encryption. Just what I wanted. An amazing additional capability. When traveling for business meetings, sometime I need to get a file from my laptop to my cell phone, and there is no time to find a WIFI access point. I enable the standard Mobile Hotspot on my phone. Then I start the WIFI File Server, which produces the URL and strong password. I then connect my laptop to the mobile hotspot, and bring up a browser, enter the URL for the WIFI File Server, enter the requested password, and then I can transfer to my hearts content with no security issues.

★★☆☆☆ Fails on Xperia active with ICS Does not run. Crashes with an error.

★★☆☆☆ Former Champ App...NOW Probably a DEAD APP! Update: A possible reason for this app's total failure is because I have AirDroid installed too...and those 2 apps MIGHT conflict by using the same port number...though I think my original review is correct. ORIGINAL: The very best apps that transfer files via WiFi, such as AirDroid or MobileGo, are bloated with tons of features. So, I loved WiFi File Server Pro because of its elegant simplicity: it used to do only one thing...transfer files via WiFi...and it did that very well. SINCE UPDATING TO ANDROID v5, this app will NOT connect to my PC (and yes, I disabled my PC's anti-virus suite before trying to get this app to work). So, I returned to the app's Play page...and noticed it was last updated in 2013. It is fair to say that the Developer abandoned his app--don't waste your time or money on this app!

** the only one WiFi File transfer / sharing utility (in Play Store) with HTTPS support that encrypts the content and makes content transfer safer in open WiFi networks **

Using WiFi File Server, you can browse and manage the files and folders of your mobile devices via WiFi and a web browser. No USB cable needed any more when WiFi is available.

WiFi File Server can use HTTPS transport that encrypts the content transferred, and prevent someone on the same local network from eavesdropping your sensitive information.

Feature list:
1. Support HTTP (default transport) and HTTPS

2. Password protected to access file server

3. Using a web browser, you can browse and manage all the files and folders of your Android device via WiFi

4. Download single file or multiple files (zipped) with one click

5. Download folders

6. Upload file, and process view & time estimate

7. Delete files or folders

8. Create new folder

9. Rename file or rename folder

10. Enhanced security. If you sign in WFS, and leaves your browser idle over 30 minutes, WiFi File Server will time out the session to prevent other people from using your machine/browser to access WFS.

11. The password is dynamically generated for better security. Define your own fixed password is also available.

12. Start / stop / shutdown WiFi File server
