The YouView App gives you greater control of your YouView set top box while you’re out and about. From the palm of your hand you can scroll through the Guide that lists over 70 digital TV and radio channels and gives full programme information for the last and next seven days. And never miss your favourite shows again with the Record and Reminder functions.

Requirements:
Mobile Devices: Compatible with Android devices running 4.1+ and above
YouView: The YouView App can be connected to YouView+ set-top boxes which are available subscription free from all major retailers or as part of a phone and broadband package from BT, TalkTalk and Plusnet.
Connecting the App to your YouView+ box:
• Download the App to your smart phone or tablet from Google Play • Make sure your TV and YouView set-top box are switched on, and your smart phone or tablet is connected to the same network • Press ‘Connect’ and your App will search for your YouView box • When your YouView box is found simply hit ‘Next’. If you have multiple YouView boxes, follow the instruction on screen to select the box you want to connect to • Pick up your remote control, confirm the connection and look at the App highlights while you wait to be connected
That’s it – device and box should become best of friends.
Remote recording requests should be set at least 15 minutes before the programme starts.
Please note your selected programme will be recorded if it does not clash with other recordings, and you have space available on your YouView+ box.

good when it works. Sometimes when you launch it, half the channels are missing but clearing the cache seems to fix it. Really useful for setting recordings when you're out though. It would be good if you could use it to switch the TV to the channel on the app. When you find a show on right now, you have to scroll through the Guide on TV. With no channel numbers it's a bit of a pain.

Start today we'll be phasing out support..... then they give you a link you can't click on and an update button that takes you here where no update is available. Given it 5 stars cause it is good to use and because google only wants to show positive ratings but evidently no one cares about the update experience enough to test it. Update: having found the support page, it says I need to use a BT TV app but without a BT login I can't use it. Great!

Very easy to use ,I like the fact you can record programmes from your phone, you dont need to interupt others while there watching the tv , just open the app search the programme you want to record & press the record button...

I've just had a message saying this app is being phases out and to use the BT app, but I have to log in as a BT customer, which I am not, I bought my BT box from a retailer and it is not part of an Internet package, so can you explain how I can record remotely?

Well Youview thanks for the warning, that you won't be supporting this app come March! There is one problem with the BT app, you need to have an account with them 🤬 Anymore idea? Oh and one star is too much for you now!
