After reading the reviews of this app I was honestly second guessing my decision to go with Z Grills for my first pellet grill. However, I had absolutely no issue setting up the app or connecting with the grill. I started using the grill right away and had no problem controlling or monitoring temps. Today was my first big smoking effort with two pork butts and everything, including the app worked perfectly for 12 straight hours. I controlled the temps and probe alarms remotely without issue.

I'm smoking a brisket tonight and putting my new Z-Grills pellet smoker to the test. So far, the Z-Grills app has been a game-changer, making overnight smoking easier than ever. Loving the convenience and control - excited to see how this brisket turns out! 🔥🍖

I have two 11002b smokers. Updated the smokers (automatic update)...downloaded the new 2.0 app and it works flawlessly. Been using it for the past 2 weeks. ****UPDATED**** It's close to being a year since I did the initial review on this. In about 2 weeks it will be 1 year. In that year I've not had one single issue! I run my router on split signals and only allow the grills to connect on the 2.4ghz signal. The app connects right away every time! I am running Xfinity 1000gig speed.

This Z Grill has completely transformed my BBQ game. The Wi-Fi feature is a total lifesaver, allowing me to monitor and control the grill remotely. I can finally relax and enjoy the cook without worrying about constant temperature checks!

Right out of the box I create an account and the app won't log me in

Not user-friendly. Unable connect the grill to Wi-Fi. Good grill, horrible app.
★☆☆☆☆Thomas Harrison· Dec 15, 2025
Everything works EXCEPT it randomly glitching to desired 1,725 °F smoker temp! How is that programmed to even be able to display a temperature so high! And it'll continuously feed pellets even when the smoker temp is 500 °F+. This is a major fire hazard and an incredibly dangerous glitch!
