It's an easy place to buy and rent. The best part, for me personally is that we don't have to put a deposit down like at a normal rental agency. The gas is free, and you can choose to buy by the hour or by the day. I just wish we had an actual key and not an app to stand there and unlock/lock the car.

Honestly I'd rate it 10 stars if I could, but I just wish they had a bit more vehicles here in columbus ohio because the vehicles they have are in the downtown/campus area it would be nice to have them like north-east south and west to where its more available to everyone you know instead of having to ride a bus to get to the vehicles.

Service is quick, but you get unnecessary parking ticket charges to your credit card even if the parking was done exactly where the car was found prior or if the demarcations for the parking was not clear from zip car's end. The company is not based in Toronto or America which means they are unfamiliar with the road safety rules here and the areas here. Proceed at your own risk and with a certain level of caution.

Worst customer service in your life. Over the years I've dealt with fees for parking tickets despite being told to park in the next available space when a Zip car parking spot is taken. I've had Zip car tow my car away from me with my stuff inside and only offer a credit. After we called the cops and had to rent the car back with our own money to get our stuff. Now I'm getting charged for smoking when I can prove I'm not where they claim I am and I had my kids with me both times and I robbed again

Unreliable and unhelpful support. Never use this for a planned trip unless it's absolutely your only option, and if it is, be sure to build in an hour to troubleshoot why the app/ car isn't working. Support cannot help you unlock a vehicle, even after their 10-minute-long identity verification, which honestly is a bit concerning considering the phone is the only key for some cars. Don't expect a partial refund after they run you around the city to find a car that unlocks either, just lost time.

If you lock your card/use the wrong card before a purchase with zip car they reserve the right to keep anything they charged you for and to terminate your account for "suspicious activity" fair warning
