On iPhone and iPad the device is your steering wheel: tilt it to turn, and press the brake and the throttle on the screen under your thumbs. A game controller works too, and on iPad a keyboard.
Choose from six classes: a children's kart, the adult rental kart, a racing kart, a junior and a mini racing kart and a historic kart from 1956. The driver you create is part of the simulation: height and weight are carried by the kart, lap after lap.
Race on thirteen layouts at ten circuits: a seaside club circuit in two layouts, a Danish track among wind turbines, a pine-wood circuit beneath the mountains, Brazilian tracks lined with flowering ipê trees and palms, a green Welsh valley, the wooded hills of northern Portugal and an Italian circuit with a loop on dirt. Or draw a circuit of your own in the track designer: lay the corners down with your finger, pinch to zoom, and try it at once.
The conditions are never just a backdrop. Race on a clear morning, under a low evening sun or in a downpour that floods the racing line, in any of the four seasons.
The main menu is a working garage next to the pit lane. Look the karts over, choose a livery and design your race suit. New to karting? The karting school takes you from the racing line and the braking points to the flags and an examination.
Race up to five AI opponents at the level you choose, or go online: up to six karts per race, with AI filling the empty grid boxes. After the flag, the debrief shows every lap, your best time and the peak G you pulled, and 51 achievements wait to be earned.
