Better Messages: Ernest

Some chats are hard to answer — without snapping, without going silent, without losing a night to it. Ernest drafts that reply for you. Take a screenshot of the conversation, and Ernest reads what the other person actually said and gives you a ready draft in four different tones. Tap to copy. You hit send.

WHY ERNEST
- Stop hunting for the right words. Ernest picks the tone with you.
- A 5-second exit from "how do I even say this." You stay in control of what gets sent — Ernest never messages on your behalf.
- Don't reply in the same flavor every time. Calm & Clear, Warm & Human, Firm Boundary, Brutal — match it to the moment.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Take a screenshot in WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram DMs, Telegram — anything.
2. Open Ernest. Your latest screenshot is already waiting. Or use the share sheet — tap Share → Ernest from any chat app.
3. Preview the parsed conversation, add a note if you want.
4. Tap "Generate replies" and your preferred-tone draft appears first. The other three tones are one tap away.

FEATURES
- Four ready-made tones: Calm & Clear, Warm & Human (acknowledges feelings first), Firm Boundary (kind but not negotiable), and Brutal (no filter)
- Pick reply length: short, medium, or long
- Stitch multiple screenshots into one conversation for long threads
- Last 10 conversations one tap away — swipe to delete or clear all
- Native Share Extension: share a chat from WhatsApp, iMessage, or Photos directly to Ernest
- Light and dark themes auto-follow your system
- No account, no signup, no password

PRIVACY
- Your screenshots NEVER leave your phone. Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on-device.
- Before any reply is generated, emails, phone numbers, IBANs, credit cards, national IDs, URLs, ZIP / postal codes and street addresses (English and Turkish) are automatically masked. Only "[masked]" tokens reach the model.
- We don't store the transcript on the server — the request is dropped from logs after the reply is generated.
- No analytics, no tracking SDKs, no ad trackers. Period.

ERNEST IS FOR YOU IF
- You'd regret what you'd type right now if you typed it raw.
- You've redrafted the same reply six times.
- You struggle with setting boundaries (the Firm Boundary tone is built for exactly this).
- You want to land the right tone in a language that isn't your first.

ERNEST IS NOT FOR
- Pretending to be someone else. Ernest gives you a draft; sending is your call.
- Manipulating the other person. Even Brutal is built on honesty.
