Boss Counselor

Every boss thinks they are the reasonable one.

Boss Counselor is a private audit of how you manage, and the only person it judges is you. You rate yourself once. Then you answer for what you actually did in the last few weeks. The distance between those two answers is what your team can see and you cannot.

THE GAP IS THE PRODUCT
Six one-tap ratings at the start: clarity, recognition, fairness, temper, delegation, availability. After that, the questions get specific. Not "are you fair?", which gets a yes from everyone. When did you last praise somebody by name? How do you find out when something has gone wrong? What happened the last time somebody told you a deadline was not realistic?
Your answers are scored across eight axes, six of them drawn against your own rating, and the headline is wherever the two are furthest apart.

FOUR AUDITS
- Am I The Problem? How much there is to work on. Thirty-eight questions, re-run every quarter so you can see which way you are moving.
- Flight Risk. Is this person leaving, and can you still stop it? It ends with what you could still do today, at a lower price than on the day a letter arrives.
- Exit Post-Mortem. How much of this was in your hands? Run it about a week after somebody resigns: what would have kept them, and had they already told you.
- Conflict. Escalation risk, not who is right. Before the conversation, it gives you an opening sentence and one change to ask for. After one that went badly, it gives you the repair moves.

IT BRINGS YOUR OWN LIST BACK
Early on, it asks what your worst boss did, or the hardest one to work for. Nobody is defensive about that question: it is about somebody else. Later, when your own answers start to match your own list, it quotes you back to yourself.

THE PRICE OF THE WIN
A toxic boss rarely feels toxic. They feel effective. So the app asks what you are proudest of this year, and some of those wins cost somebody else. It never argues on that screen. It waits until the win turns up next to its price.
