Buzzer Party has no questions of its own. Use a box of trivia cards, a quiz book, a printed pub round or questions you make up. Read one out, everyone hits their buzzer, and the fastest thumb answers.
ONE CLOCK FOR THE WHOLE ROOM
The room shares one clock, and every phone times its own press on it. The first to buzz answers; everyone else sees how far behind they were, to the hundredth of a second. A wrong answer opens the buzzers again for everyone still in, with a fresh clock, until somebody gets it, nobody is left, or time runs out.
UP TO SIXTEEN PLAYERS
One host reads the questions and keeps the score. Everyone else taps JOIN: no room code, no accounts. Any mix of iPhones and iPads.
TEAMS
Up to four teams. Players pick a side, or captains draft them on a thirty-second clock.
A BUZZER THAT IS YOURS
30 faces, 14 rings and 12 backgrounds: 5,040 buzzers. 20 of the faces move. Pick one of 26 sounds, record your own, or put your photo or a short video on the button.
NO INTERNET NEEDED
The phones talk to each other directly. Leave Wi-Fi switched on; you don't need a network or signal. The app sends us something only if you use referrals: scanning or typing in a friend's code sends their code, yours, and the app's version and build number; checking how many people your code has brought sends your code. Nothing else.
WHAT COSTS WHAT
Downloading and joining a game are free. One Phone, two players sharing one screen, is free. Hosting a game across several phones is one purchase, once. It also keeps the buzzers you design in four memory slots; without it, your buzzer goes back to Classic Red each time the app opens. No subscription, and no questions to buy.
