CamJam: shoot to the beat

CamJam turns a handful of phone shots into a short video cut to the music — while you are still filming.

HOW IT WORKS
• Pick a recipe. It sets the music and a list of shots: what to film, how long, and how each shot joins the next.
• Follow the hints. The camera shows the idea of each shot and counts down how long to hold it.
• Watch. The edit is ready at once: cuts on the beat, dissolves, live sound and slow motion where the recipe asks for them.

FILM
• Hold the shutter to record, or tap to start and stop
• Slide your finger up the shutter to zoom smoothly along a scale, or pinch
• Ultra wide, main and telephoto lenses on supported iPhones; front camera; flash
• Slow motion up to 240 fps on supported iPhones
• Add clips from Photos
• Continue a shot: tap the previous shot and its end plays over the camera, so you can pick up the motion
• Storyboard sketches and the music waveform on the shot strip; horizon level

EDIT WITHOUT RESHOOTING
• Slide a shot's window along what you recorded
• Swap a shot for a clip from Photos, reorder or delete shots, turn live sound on or off
• Re-cut the same footage to another recipe in one tap
• Undo and redo any change
• Add a voice-over from Files; the music gets quieter under the voice
• Save to Photos or share; save one shot or every shot to Photos as separate clips

YOUR OWN MUSIC
• Add a song from Files, or take the sound of a video from Photos
• CamJam finds the beat and the strong moments and writes a recipe for it. Choose the genre and the story, use half tempo, or roll another version
