BUILD YOUR ARMY
Choose a points budget from 8 to 32 and spend it like a deck: pawn 1, knight 3, bishop 3, rook 5, queen 9. Your king is free. Both armies are worth exactly the same.

EVERY FIGHT IS FAIR
Scattering pieces at random almost always hands one side a free capture. ChessArcade doesn't. Every position is graded by the built-in chess engine before you see it, looking for a fight where both sides have something real to play for and neither is already winning. The game shows you how even it is before the first move.

BEAT THE CLOCK
Set each clock from 1 to 10 minutes. Your clock only runs on your turn. Checkmate wins instantly. If time runs out, the side with more piece points wins, so every capture counts right up to the end.
