The eXaRt app is the result of intensive artistic work and research. It makes it possible to transfer digital artworks from the virtual world into the public space and thus make them accessible and tangible for everyone. The app breaks through the boundaries of virtual reality and visibly constructs digital artworks in the real world so that users can interact with them. This represents a significant step in the digitalisation and democratisation of art, not only at the Schiffbauergasse cultural venue, but anywhere and at any time. With the eXaRt app, digital artworks can appear in any desired environment - be it indoors, in parks or urban spaces. This integration of art into everyday life not only promotes the visibility and accessibility of artworks, but also enriches the cultural life of the community. Users can experience and interact with the artworks in a completely new way, blurring the boundaries between real and virtual reality. The eXaRt project sees itself as a research laboratory for augmented art. The project's first exhibition traces the visible and hidden ‘vibes’ at the Waschhaus cultural centre and transforms them into immersive spaces of possibility in an augmented reality. On display are various artworks by artists who can be located in the field of augmented street art. The three-dimensional works function as an immersive gallery without walls, in which digital art can be experienced up close. The eXaRt app enables profound immersion by tearing down the walls between artworks and the viewer. The distant, unapproachable artworks are replaced by phygital spaces that can be experienced by immersing oneself in these three-dimensional worlds. As a result, the artworks can be experienced physically and the users can establish a direct connection to the digital art.
