Description by torankirite(from the App Store)
Write one line about why you spent. Kakeibo is a simple expense tracker built around the Japanese money journal from 1904. See what's left to spend this month every time you open it. And use the wish box to wait a few days before you buy.
Most budget apps ask for numbers. Kakeibo also asks why. Each time you log a purchase, add a short note about the reason. After a few weeks, you start to see your spending habits clearly: what you buy when you're tired, bored, celebrating, or just in a hurry. No bank links. No sign-up.
◆ WHAT YOU CAN DO - Log expenses in seconds: amount, category, and one line about why - Four classic kakeibo categories: Needs, Wants, Culture, Unexpected - Left this month: set your income, fixed costs and savings goal, and Kakeibo shows what's left to spend at the top of Home. Save first, then spend. - Fixed costs: add rent, bills and other monthly payments once. They're logged automatically on their due date. - Wish box: put in something you want and choose how long to wait. When the day comes, decide: buy it, or let it go. What you let go is logged as money not spent. - Calendar: see your month at a glance. No-spend days get a small leaf. - This week's whys: the reasons you wrote this week, on Home - Weekly reflection every Sunday (notifications can be turned off) - Four month-end questions: How much did you spend? How much did you save? Why did you spend this way? How can you improve next month? - Your past self: at month end, revisit what you wrote a few months ago and how your spending changed - Year in review: look back on a full year of spending and words - Widgets: see what's left on your Home Screen and Lock Screen - Share cards: save a line you're proud of as a quiet, paper-style card (watermarked in the free version) - Works with major world currencies
◆ GREAT FOR - Anyone who tried a budget app and gave up after a week - People who reach payday wondering where the money went - Cutting back on impulse buys, gently - Starting a save-first habit or a no-spend challenge - Anyone who doesn't want to connect a bank account - Journaling and mindful spending fans
◆ PRIVACY - No account and no sign-in - No bank or card connections. Only what you enter is recorded - Your records are stored on your iPhone or iPad and are not sent to anyone, including the developer - No tracking - Note: deleting the app also deletes your records
◆ FREE & PREMIUM Kakeibo is free to download and use. For 7 days from your first launch, you can try every Premium feature. You will not be charged when the trial ends, and everything you wrote stays.
