Kala: Day Counter

Time, beautifully counted.

If you are planning a wedding, counting down to a vacation, watching exams approach, observing Ramadan, Easter or Christmas, or simply tracking days since a life event that mattered, Kala is built for you.
It is a serene countdown and day counter in a calm editorial interface — 180+ ready-made events, accurate recurrence, and widgets that turn your Home Screen into a quiet event calendar.
There is no account, no sign-up and no cloud upload.
Your dates and notes stay on this device, the app keeps working in airplane mode, and there is no third-party server in the loop.

Every feature described below is unlocked only with an auto-renewable subscription purchased inside the app. New users receive a 3 day free trial; you may cancel anytime during the trial to avoid being charged.

Add a date in seconds with a note, emoji and recurrence, then pick how it lives — hero, list or focus view. The 180+ presets cover holidays, religious dates, sports finals, birthdays and personal milestones, and floating holidays auto-correct across the Gregorian, Hijri, Hebrew and Chinese calendars for the next decade. Home Screen, Lock Screen and Dynamic Island widgets keep days remaining visible at a glance, Live Activities take over the last 24 hours of any countdown timer, and built-in milestones at 365, 100, 50, 30, 14, 7, 3, 1 and day-of arrive as rich notifications. Shareable cards in Story, Square and Twitter formats turn a birthday or Halloween countdown into something worth posting without leaving the app.

Beyond the basics, Kala handles the awkward middle of the calendar.
Days-since counters run the other direction for sobriety, a baby's first smile, the day you quit a job or the day a pet went home.
Recurring annual events know when they have just passed and flip to the next instance without a manual reset.
The countdown widget supports stacking multiple events on a single tile, so a wedding, an exam and a Ramadan opener can share one corner of the Home Screen.
Sharing a countdown to a partner exports a clean card rather than a screenshot with your battery indicator visible.

Premium themes, 12 accent colors, photo backgrounds and editorial fonts let you tune the feel.
The interface ships in 15 in-app languages with full VoiceOver and Dynamic Type, an Apple Watch companion brings complications to your wrist, and the whole app works offline.
Useful for anyone counting down to a vacation, watching exams approach, building an event calendar of life events, or quietly marking the days since something mattered.
