Loudwalk: Voice Flashcards

Loudwalk asks your flashcards out loud, listens to your answer and tells you whether you had it. Put the phone in your pocket and do your reviews on a walk, on a commute or at the sink.

ANSWER OUT LOUD, IN YOUR OWN WORDS
The Voice tutor asks each card that is due, hears what you say and grades what you meant, not the exact wording. It corrects you in a sentence and moves on to the next card. It keeps going with the screen locked and the phone in your pocket.

ASK BACK
When an answer leaves you with a question, say “tell me more”. A deep dive is a live spoken conversation with the teacher about that one card, and then you are back to your reviews.

BRING YOUR ANKI DECKS, OR START IN A MINUTE
Import an Anki collection or deck package, including its media, scheduling and review history. Your original Anki file is never modified, and you can export everything back to Anki at any time. No Anki? Start with the built-in starter deck, write your own Basic and Cloze cards, or import a CSV file.

A REAL SPACED REPETITION APP
FSRS scheduling, daily limits for each deck, statistics, a searchable review history, and your image occlusion cards on screen. Sync between your iPhone and your Mac through your own iCloud Drive folder. Loudwalk does not host your collection or your review history.

THE VOICE TUTOR
Try the tutor for seven days without a payment card. The optional monthly Walking subscription includes 2,000 graded cards per calendar month, up to 400 per day, and 30 minutes of deep dive. Unlimited includes unlimited voice reviews and deep dives for personal study on two devices. It has no review quota or monthly conversation time allowance. Idle calls close automatically; a live call may need to be reopened after an hour, on the same card. The price is shown before purchase. Apple subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings.

Each card is asked, heard and corrected in its own language: a Spanish card in Spanish. Between cards the teacher speaks English or French.

HOW YOUR DATA IS USED
Speech recognition for your answers runs on your device. Card text and answer transcripts are sent to Loudwalk and OpenAI for grading and speech generation. During a deep dive only, your microphone audio is streamed to OpenAI for the length of the conversation; Loudwalk does not store it. Internet access is required for the tutor.

Requires iOS 26 or later. Headphones recommended.
