MARMARA was founded by Engineer Hüseyin Kuru, who received an honorary service medal from Turkish President Süleyman Demirel, recognizing him as a distinguished citizen for his extraordinary dedication. Hüseyin Kuru established MARMARA in 1980 with the aim of providing the Turkish population in Germany with high-quality, diverse Turkish products. Today, the MARMARA Group has grown into a commercial enterprise of European scale – with more than 200 employees across 4 locations.

In addition to its headquarters in Ratingen, the company also operates in Düsseldorf, Hannover, and Frankfurt. The head office and central warehouse in Ratingen alone cover a total floor space of over 15,000 square meters.

Alongside its own product range, the MARMARA Group also offers leading, popular products from the Turkish food industry. The MARMARA Group is the exclusive distribution partner in Europe for major Turkish companies such as TAT, AROMA, YUDUM, LOKMAS, and EVYAP (Arko & Duru).

In addition to its large assortment of dry goods, which includes over 2,000 products, MARMARA is also a highly reliable supplier of fresh fruit and vegetables. In Düsseldorf, Hannover, and Frankfurt, MARMARA Group companies are represented at the respective wholesale markets with their complete product range.
