RECORD BY PART OF THE DAY
• Five fields per symptom: Night, Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening.
• One tap records “mild”, each further tap switches to “moderate” and “strong”, and the next one removes the entry again.
• For a part of the day that is already over, the same tap adds the entry afterwards. “Undo” takes back the last tap.
• 18 symptoms to choose from, such as headache, migraine, dizziness, joint pain or sleep problems, plus your own.
• A daily reminder, if you like.
THE WEATHER ALONGSIDE
• Air pressure, temperature and humidity from the nearest station: Deutscher Wetterdienst, GeoSphere Austria, MeteoSwiss, National Weather Service (USA), Environment and Climate Change Canada.
• Where no station is nearby, for example when traveling, Apple Weather. MeteoDiary stores only the resulting weather condition, not the values.
• With your consent, also the air pressure from the barometer in the iPhone.
HISTORY
• “Today’s course” on the back of the “Record” card: air pressure and the day’s entries.
• Air pressure of the last 7 or 30 days, your entries as dots sized by intensity.
• “Weather and intensity” counts your entries by five pressure situations, from low pressure to high pressure.
LOOK BACK
Once a month, MeteoDiary counts how often your entries coincided with eight fixed weather patterns, such as a pressure drop, a summer day or mugginess. The thresholds are fixed in advance and never adjusted to your entries. The method is described in the app.
• Plus “Your month” to page through, “Air pressure around your entries”, an “Overview” of all symptoms and “Your year” as a mosaic.
• The first look back needs about two months of complete weather data.
SAMPLE DIARY
About 200 made-up days with weather and a look back, available before you subscribe. Your own entries stay untouched.
YOUR DATA
• No account, no server of our own.
• Weather services only receive station identifiers; Apple Weather only receives the center of an area of about 10 km.
• CSV export of your entries with their weather conditions.
• In seven languages, with “Questions and answers” in the app.
SUBSCRIPTION
The first two months are free, then you pay monthly or yearly through your Apple Account. All features are included. The subscription renews automatically and can be canceled at any time. Without a subscription, your entries stay readable and can be exported as CSV.
PLEASE NOTE
MeteoDiary is a diary. It does not determine any illness. It says nothing about your symptoms in the days ahead. It does not rate values as good or bad and gives no points. It gives no advice on behavior, treatment or medication. It does not plan when or how much medication to take. It does not observe your state of health. Your entries stay on your iPhone and go to no one. A coincidence is not a cause. Talk to your doctor about your symptoms.
