Pacent is the proper Japanese Walking Method app — the protocol Japanese researchers proved beats ordinary walking for cardiovascular health. Three minutes brisk, three minutes easy, repeated five times. Built on the Nemoto et al. study at Shinshu University.
WHY JAPANESE WALKING WORKS
The five-month Shinshu trial showed Interval Walking Training measurably improves aerobic capacity, leg strength, and blood pressure where ordinary walking did not. It works for adults who don't run, won't go to a gym, and want a sustainable routine they'll actually keep.
WHAT MAKES PACENT DIFFERENT
• Calibrated to YOU. A short walking measurement during onboarding sets your real brisk and easy cadence. Generic 3-min / 3-min timers don't know what fast means for your body — Pacent does.
• Live cadence on screen. Real-time steps-per-minute feedback so you actually hit your zone instead of guessing.
• Voice and chime cues. Clear, gentle interval transitions you can hear with your phone in a pocket. No drill-sergeant whistles.
• Apple Health workouts. Every completed session saves as a walking workout and counts toward your activity rings.
• Pace progression chart. Watch your brisk and easy cadence improve session over session.
• Designed for the long term. Calm, editorial design — no streak-anxiety, no shouting.
PACENT PREMIUM
Pacent comes with a 3-day free trial of Pacent Premium. After the trial, an auto-renewing subscription unlocks the full experience: the structured multi-week protocol, recalibration milestones, voice coaching, full session history, and the pace progression chart.
• Free trial: 3 days. Cancel any time during the trial and you won't be charged.
• Subscription auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel your subscription any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Pricing is shown in the app and may vary by region.
PRIVACY
Your profile, pace calibration, and session history stay on your device. We don't run servers that store your walking data. Apple Health integration is read locally only — your health data never leaves your iPhone.
