This application addresses a critical gap for photographers using Mirrorless/DSLR cameras, which lack the comprehensive sensor data available on smartphones.
By placing the smartphone atop the camera, users can capture essential orientation and sensor information.

A unique feature of our app is its sophisticated calibration system. This allows users to precisely “reset” the orientation once the phone is positioned, ensuring accurate data
capture. This calibration, implemented using robust numerical methods to overcome the inherent instability of Quaternions for small rotations, is a significant technical
achievement. The primary use case is to enhance photogrammetry workflows.

Leading photogrammetry software packages support CSV data import. Our app exports calibrated sensor data in this format, enabling seamless integration with image sets to dramatically improve 3D reconstruction accuracy.

Technical notes:

Altitude is shown as orthometric height, which is the height above the approximate mean sea level. Conversion is done with the Earth Gravitational Model 2008 (EGM 2008) geoid associated with the World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS84) standard.
