Most printer apps answer a failed connection with a spinner and "No printers found." Platen runs a real diagnosis instead. It checks whether the printer is awake or asleep, whether it is on the same network as your iPhone, whether your router is isolating it from other devices, whether Local Network permission is switched off, whether AirPrint has been disabled in the printer's own settings, and whether the tray is empty or a cover is open. Every message names the cause and the next thing to do. Never a bare "failed."
