SmartCrunch: Calorie Counter

One number, every day: how much is left to eat.

SmartCrunch is a calorie tracker built around a single goal — the weight you want to reach. You set the target, and the app works out the daily budget that gets you there.

THE BUDGET LEARNS FROM YOU

Most trackers guess your maintenance calories from a formula: height, weight, age, done. Two people with identical numbers get identical advice, and neither of them is average.

SmartCrunch does the arithmetic backwards. Once you have a few weeks of logging and weigh-ins, it reads your own energy balance: what you ate, and where your weight actually went. That gives your real maintenance figure, and the daily budget follows it. Plateau explained, instead of plateau ignored.

Until there is enough data it says so, and uses the ordinary estimate. It never invents a number.

LOGGING THAT TAKES SECONDS

• Scan a barcode — the product comes back with its full label from the Open Food Facts database
• Search that database by name
• Repeat yesterday's breakfast with one tap
• Recent and frequent foods, ranked from your own history
• Or type it in by hand: name, weight, macros

Change the weight of a portion and every figure rescales from the food's own density. Change a macro and the density is redefined. The two are different gestures and the app treats them differently.

WHAT YOU ACTUALLY EAT

Fiber, sugars, sodium and saturated fat come with every scanned product, measured against targets derived from your own calorie budget — 14 g of fiber per 1000 kcal, sugars and saturated fat at 10% of energy each, sodium under 2300 mg.

Where the food database has no figure, the app says "not known" rather than counting it as zero. Every total is shown with its coverage: how many of your entries it was computed from.

YOUR WEIGHT, AND THE ROUTE TO IT

How far is left, how much of the way is done, and the date the current pace arrives at. Weight arrives from Apple Health or goes in by hand; the trend line is a moving average, so one heavy morning does not become a verdict.

FREE, AND NOT A TEASER

Everything above is free, with no daily limit: the budget, the diary, the barcode scanner, the food database, the micronutrients, the weight goal and Apple Health sync.

SMARTCRUNCH PRO

SmartCrunch Pro is an auto-renewing subscription; you buy it inside the app, and what it adds is the AI:

• Photograph a plate, or describe it in one sentence, and get an estimate you can correct before it is saved
• A daily meal plan built around today's remaining budget

Nothing in Pro changes a computed number. A calorie is the same calorie free or paid — the AI proposes what the food was, and the app's own engines do every calculation that follows.

Available monthly, every 3 months, every 6 months, or yearly. You pay from day one, and you can cancel from the App Store at any time.

No account, no feed, no leaderboard. Anything the AI writes comes out of an AI service, and only once you have turned that on.

SmartCrunch is a nutrition tool, not a medical device. Every figure is an estimate computed from what you log and what your scale says — not a clinical measurement, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for professional care. Talk to a doctor before you decide anything about your health, your diet or your weight.
