Sprue - Tash

Sprue is a shelf ledger for the kits you have bought and the ones you have not opened yet. It grew out of a familiar scene: a cupboard full of boxes, a phone full of wishlists, and no honest answer to the question of how many years of building are already paid for.

Each box gets a proper record: who made it, which number is on the side, what scale it is, when the mould was first cut, and how many times that same mould has come back in a new sleeve since. That last part is the reason the app exists. Before you pay for a box that looks new, Sprue tells you whether the plastic inside is the same plastic you already own, so a reprint stops being a surprise and starts being a decision.

The app also keeps the part of the hobby that gets forgotten. The day a kit is opened, the day it comes off the bench, the hours that went into it, the parts that were replaced, the mix that finally matched the reference photo. At the end of the year the yearbook puts those days in order, and the numbers screen answers the quieter questions: how deep the shelf really is, which scale you keep coming back to, and how long it would take to build what is already waiting.

Everything is designed to work on a shop floor with no signal. The kit database is stored on the phone, the shop check answers offline, and the camera turns a barcode into a record in a few seconds. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account to create, and the only time the app touches the network is when you ask it to read the public release page again.

Sprue is written for people who count sprues before they count sheep, and who would rather build one good kit than buy three more.
