TideStitch: Quilt Designer

Quilting's scariest moment is committing to a design you can only half-see in your head. TideStitch is where you see it for real first: lay out your quilt block by block and see the whole thing, binding and all, before you cut a single piece.

No graph paper, no colored pencils, and no math. Design the quilt you actually want and TideStitch works out the finished and cut sizes, so you walk away with an accurate cut list instead of guesswork.

DESIGN WITH REAL FABRIC
• Photograph fabric from your stash and save named swatches
• Audition fabric tiled at correct physical scale: a 6" print reads like 6"
• Line up a stripe or directional print so it tiles without a jog
• Tag and filter by color, material, print, designer or line

WHOLE-QUILT LAYOUTS
• Build a quilt from a grid of blocks, one block or many
• Set it straight, on point, or brick: on point works out the setting triangles, brick staggers every other column
• Paint every border, sashing strip and setting triangle its own fabric
• Bind it: pick its fabric, strip width and grain, and see it framing the quilt
• Preview the quilting, from in the ditch to a longarm design file

DESIGN YOUR OWN QUILT TOP
• A blank grid you draw yourself: split cells, merge patches, cut a merged rectangle corner to corner for half-rectangle triangles
• Set it on point, corners and all, or finish it in diagonal rows
• Mark the blocks you drew and add sashing between them
• Freeform Sampler: drop library blocks anywhere at any size, and TideStitch works out how it sews together
• Or go radial: set an anchor point, fan rays from it, and fill the wedges

ENGLISH PAPER PIECING
