Bring podcasts, web pages, text, audio and email together. Translate between Simplified Chinese, English, French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, then listen with a bilingual transcript.

■ Email and newsletters
Forward email to your personal address and choose how to process it in your inbox. Confirm the first cloud conversion; only senders you authorize can be converted automatically in your chosen direction, within your monthly email points limit. On-device mode uses no points and requires opening the app to process content. Receiving email needs an internet connection.

■ Five languages, 20 directions
Chinese, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, in any combination. Chinese is always Simplified Chinese / Mandarin; Portuguese is Brazilian.

■ More ways to bring in content
· Podcasts: paste an episode link or share one from another app; it downloads, transcribes, translates and narrates
· Web articles: share a link from Safari and the article text is extracted, then translated
· Text: paste any passage
· Audio files: share a local recording from the Files app

■ Read along while you listen
· Side-by-side transcript that highlights the line being spoken
· Tap any sentence to continue playback from there
· Lock screen and headphone controls, background playback, 0.75x-2x speed

■ On-device processing, no points used
Process downloaded text, article content and local audio on your iPhone without spending points. Prepare the required language packs, voices and audio recognition resources first. Fetching web pages and downloading resources require internet access. Keep the app open while processing; on-device translation is not guaranteed to finish in the background.

■ Podcasts run in the cloud, priced in points
Podcast episodes often run an hour or more, which is slow and battery-hungry on a phone, so podcast conversion runs in the cloud and spends points based on content length: 2 points per minute for podcasts, and 3 for audio you upload, text you paste and web articles. All five languages use the same points rate. Points come with a monthly subscription and are granted each period; whatever you don't use rolls over for one extra month. Reopening a completed item does not spend points again.

■ Follow shows
Follow the podcasts you keep up with and get notified when a new episode lands. You decide whether to convert it — points are never spent automatically.

■ About accuracy
Speech recognition and translation are fully automated and cannot be guaranteed accurate. Check the source for anything important.
