Word Puzzles: Groups & Guess

Three word puzzles, and a garden that grows as you solve them.

THE GARDEN
Every pack is ten puzzles, and every two packs grow a plant: finish the first and a sprout appears, finish the second and it grows in full. There are 27 plants in three groves of nine: tulip, fern, cactus, monstera, orchid, bonsai, lavender and more. Each plant shows its name, the date you earned it and the theme of the pack it came from, and plants you have not grown yet wait as silhouettes. They are earned by playing, never bought. A garden strip on the home screen leads to the full garden. Daily puzzles do not grow plants.

GROUPS
Sort words into groups that share a link. Some words fit more than one group, and that is the puzzle. Each board is 16 words in four groups, and you may make four mistakes.

SEARCH
A letter grid and no list of words. Trace a path through neighbouring letters, turning at any of them, diagonals included, and build words you thought of yourself. The only clue is how many words of each length are hiding. Reach par and the puzzle is solved: 10 words on a 4x4 grid, 14 on 5x5, 18 on 6x6. Words past par are a bonus. A wrong trace costs nothing.

GUESS
Find the hidden word, five, six or seven letters long. You get six tries, seven on the longest. Every letter is marked for whether it is in the word and whether it is in the right place, with a shape as well as a colour. Hard Mode, in Settings, makes every revealed letter compulsory in your next guess.

A PUZZLE EVERY DAY
Every mode has a daily puzzle, the same for everyone, and a fresh one arrives at midnight. In Search and Guess there is one at every board size. Solve a daily in any mode and your streak grows. If it ends, nothing is taken from you. The archive shows your dailies as a list or a calendar, marked Solved, Failed or Missed. Share a result as a coloured grid with no letters in it, so nobody is spoiled.

PLAY YOUR WAY
Search and Guess each have three board sizes, Classic, Large and Giant, and you choose. Each puzzle has three hints, costing a few points each. Leave a puzzle and your progress on it is kept. Pick a light, dark or system theme, and switch sound and haptics on or off. Reminders are optional: asked once, after your first finished puzzle, at most one a day, each kind switchable.

PLAYS OFFLINE
The app keeps two packs per mode downloaded, about 20 puzzles per mode, and refills them by itself, free, when you reconnect. The first launch needs a connection once. The daily puzzle, the leaderboard and your account need a connection.

NOTHING TAKEN FROM YOU
No energy. No lives. No tokens. No timers. Nothing runs out, and nothing interrupts a puzzle.

A CALM LEADERBOARD
Today groups everyone into bands by how the puzzle went. It is not ranked: no clock, no places. This week adds up your points, with a cap on each day. You play under a public nickname, and you can report a name by tapping it. Accounts are optional, and a guest can play everything.

EASY ON THE EYES
Group bands carry text labels as well as colours. Guess marks carry shapes as well as colours. The opening screens respect your reduced motion setting.
