Worth Opening: WSET Level 3

Twenty complete mock exams for the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines, on your phone, working entirely offline.

Independent study aid. Not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.

Each mock is the full paper: 50 multiple-choice questions, four written questions worth 25 marks each and two blind tasting notes, one white and one red. In all, 1,000 questions, 80 written questions with their mark schemes and 40 model tasting notes.

SIT IT LIKE THE REAL THING

- Theory paper under the real 120-minute clock or as separate timed sections for the multiple choice and the written answers
- Written questions in the exam's format: a scenario, lettered parts, wine labels to read and headings to answer under
- Tasting paper in 30 minutes, with the wine in front of you or from memory
- Full sitting: theory then tasting, with an indicative grade and the reason for it
- The clock keeps running if you close the app, exactly like the exam room
- Leave any paper and pick it up where you left it

MARK IT LIKE AN EXAMINER

- In a mock, the mark scheme opens only once you hand the paper in
- Tick in the margin each point you made; the score moves as you go, capped where the scheme caps it
- Accepted alternatives, answers not to credit and examiner notes, point by point
- Every multiple-choice answer comes with the reason and a line on why the tempting wrong answer is wrong
- A pass line per paper, so you can see which one is holding you back
- Every result sealed with its verdict and a card to share if you want to

FIND THE GAPS

- If the exam were today: your indicative grade on the exam's own rules and the one gap between you and the next band
- A weak-spot run in one tap: 20 questions on the topics likely to cost you the most marks
- Progress by learning outcome and by written question, each set against the pass, merit and distinction lines
- Marks at risk, weighted like the exam, so you revise what costs you marks rather than what merely feels hard
- Practice by learning outcome or by topic, in runs of up to 20 questions
- Questions you got wrong come back until you answer them correctly twice in a row
- Study mode: read any written question with its full mark scheme, without sitting it

REVISE

- 35 topic pages written from the app's own explanations and mark schemes, each question linked to the line that holds its fact
- Every grape with every line about it, plus a search across them all

FLASHCARDS AND A STUDY PLAN

- 428 wine terms with their definitions, in English, French and Spanish, free and searchable
- Spaced repetition: the terms you keep forgetting come back sooner, the ones you know come back later
- Set your exam date and the app says what to do today, drawn from the marks you are losing, the papers you have not sat and the cards that are due
- One daily reminder at an hour you pick, scheduled by your own phone

TWO DRILLS

- Field labels: every tasting field from memory in 90 seconds
- Which wine is it? Find the wine from its descriptors and see why the other three do not fit

ENGLISH, FRENCH AND SPANISH

The whole app, questions and mark schemes included, in English, French and Spanish.
