Great app but drains battery When I started using this app, it only drained about 2% of my battery usage when pinging every 5 minutes. Recently it's been taking about 30% of my battery usage, no matter how often I ping (If I don't ping at all, the battery drain stops). This is on a GSM galaxy nexus. UPDATE: I discovered that by clearing application data, it stopped draining the battery. I previously had about 3000 points stored. I now have about 500 points stored (and growing). Perhaps there is a lot of overhead involved in storing large numbers of data points?

immeasurable battery impact, but data questionable I've been using this app for over 4 months, providing data hourly the entire time, with no noticeable battery life impact. Seeing that they previously had only a handful of data points and a single user in my area, I was happy to contribute. However, suddenly my data seems to have been (and continues to be) discarded; it's as if no data for my carrier or device is being submitted. An email to support over two weeks ago has gone unanswered. The app is a great idea, but for now I would take their recommendations with a grain of salt.

Good concept... It might work better if you have a good carrier. It didn't turn out well for me... Eats my battery. Every time it pings it wakes up a bunch of stuff on my phone to do it. And I'm notified every time.

Power hungry App gets a GPS lock once every five minutes regardless of "ping" rate. Completely drains the battery of my Rezound in about four hours.

They DO NOT care about your battery The video says that they care a lot about your privacy and battery life, but the smallest option is to check GPS every hour. It used over 50% of my battery.
