The 511 Alberta mobile app provides real-time road and traffic information to Alberta drivers. Construction, congestion, and other delays are centrally monitored by the many cameras, sensors, and other data available to Alberta Transportation. Our 511AB app will help you plan your route, anticipate delays, and get where you're going faster.
New Version Information The new 511 Alberta includes a completely new app which will require a new installation.
This app features a scrollable, zoomable map that displays: - Road Conditions - Incidents, such as collisions and other road hazards - Over 200 Cameras, frequently updated so you can see the conditions for yourself
Other features of the app include: - Route Comparison, enter a destination and get 3 routes with travel times displayed.. - Route Schedules, you can save a route and set a daily time to have the app run that route before you leave so you can receive automatic notifications - Drive Mode Alerts, you can just start driving with the app on and you will be notified with an audio alert of any delays on the road ahead of you - Citizen Reporter – submit audio reports to the 24/7 Traffic Management Centre (TMC) for issues and conditions that you experience on your route
Recent changes: - New pothole reporting feature allows users to submit pothole locations directly through the app. - Contractors and department staff will be notified. Repair timelines will vary based on priority and operational requirements. - General bug fixes and performance improvements.

Easy to navigate using the app where you want to go it's nice to have the weather there also road conditions great map with live photo shot of the road (P. S I'm not sure if I see how often the map location and road conditions updates and how often it's updating every 60 mins) cause every location have different road conditions and weather, or I just need to navigate more may be great idea to add how often it refreshed the road condition and weather thank you so much for this great app

Map is functional, I like having the cameras, plows easy viewable in addtiona to road conditions and traffic. But why is it now always is dark mode. I can't find a setting to turn the background map on or out of dark mode. My phone's generally set in Dark usually and the only way to turn the app off of dark mode is to change my whole phone setting.

It sends me constantly to a different location than where I am currently. Plus it keeps flipping off the map that I need to be on, this making it useless.

The only option we have ao I guess it's better than nothing. It has become extremely glitchy lately. Very slow. You keep getting a 511 isn't responding message. Sounds like our highway crews. The highway conditions are correct most of the time but when the guys reporting the road conditions are the same guys looking after the roads, why would you expect them to call themselves out. The Citizen reporting function is a waste of time. They just ask the road crews who say what they want.

Good for little more than another map app. With access to cameras on the highways sometimes. Do not expect accurate road reports. At least in the previous app you could register to update road reports for other drivers, but they changed that. As it is, the reports are usually wrong. Labeling roads that are covered in ice and partial snow as black (bare). Leaving reports of congestion on highways in the middle of nowhere as having traffic congestion for days or even weeks. Need chains? Go elsewhere.
