Aaptiv: Fitness for Everyone

★★★★★ The workouts are great, and the trainers do a fantastic job guiding through the workout. The main issue I have with the app is if the workout gets interrupted for any reason, you cannot easily re-enter the workout in the app.

★★★★★ If you can't get to a gym or can't afford one and just want to get started, this app is great! There are challenges and different classes and programs you can do. It's super easy to navigate, and the people are supportive. I always get nervous posting in public spaces around exercise, but I feel so comfortable doing it on this app and finding motivation from the coaches (yes, they respond to folks too!) and from others in the community. It's definitely worth a try!

★★★★★ I have been using Aaptiv for several years. The caliber of the workouts, music choices and the trainers is great. I love the fact I can either listen to my own music or the original music selected for a workout OR any genre of music selected by the creators. My personal favorite is Throwback Hip Hop. It has a great collection of my favorite hip hop music from Missy Elliott to B.I.G. to Jay-Z.

★★☆☆☆ This app has been buggy so bad this past few weeks. The instructor audio for some are awful you can hear stuff in the background, so it lowers your playlist audio. When using Spotify and the app one pauses the other so to have non-video workouts you have to not have either open on the screen but in the background but play it from the drop-down notifications bar. The audio doesn't sync up to the video so being told one workout while showing a different video can be confusing.

★★☆☆☆ They broke it! For those of us who have used the app for a while, we have some favorite workouts, e.g. the outdoor run "Get your tempo on" with Rochelle. These workouts were curated around a specific set of songs. With the latest feature update Aaptiv removed the ability to hear these workouts with the songs that they were designed to use. The new "Select your genre" feature (which would be helpful only for people who don't otherwise have access to music on their phone) does not give the ability to access curated music for many workouts that were curated to music. They really *need* to update ALL the routines this "feature" broke. They *should* add a default setting that allows all searches to be limited to show only workouts with curated music. If I really want to fuss around to find a coached workout and music that matches the workout it is easier to do this without an app.

★★☆☆☆ New update says I can play without music, but that's not the case for many workouts. They have also increased the volume of the music, so it's hard to hear the instructor. Probably won't renew when my subscription is up.
