This works quite well to find 240v AC wires in a wall. Plug a 2KW load into the socket for which you are trying to trace the wire and switch it on. Move your phone over the flex to see how the app responds to the wire then move your phone slowly over the wall to see where you get a similar response.

Nullsoft has a superbly well executed set of applications that turn your phone into scientific instruments. I have all their apps and constantly use them in my STEM classes I run and for my kids homeschooling. There is only one other app that comes close to this (I won't plug it here), and these are still better in some situations. Every science teacher should have these in their teaching tool chest. I recommend paying for them, but the ads don't really interfere with most use cases.

I have installed this app on every phone I have had for years, it was the best and still is in its old version on one of the phones I have. But after installing this on my current phone I find that it does not keep the reading true to value-in other words it does read the field but not as a constant, it goes up the closer it is to the magnet but once the reading is done it recalibrate the reading to normal while still being exposed to the field. Fix for 5 stars and a good review

Nice UI, but it doesn't work. All the app does is measure movement in the accelerometer. Jiggle the phone, the graph responds. Hold the phone still near a known Ac source, nothing registers... unless you jiggle the device. It's the accelerometer... not the AC field.
