To use the app you need to be registered for AIB Phone and Internet Banking.
The app needs the following permissions to work on your phone: - Identity/Contacts – we need the device name so you can unregister (ie. remotely wipe the app) from AIB Internet or Tablet Banking - Phone - so you can call our help or product numbers directly from the app - Device ID & call information - to read phone status and identity - Calendar - so you can add reminders to your calendar when serving notice on Online Notice Deposit savings accounts - Camera and Microphone Permission - so you can open an account online, offers the freedom and flexibility to open an account, easily and securely. AIB App does not allow screenshots and your online account statements fluctuate to suit AIB not you and as you cannot take screenshots it is very hard to prove. Very nefarious. e.g. you make a payment to Revolute say for €10, your balance goes down obviously by €10 BUT at the top of your statement it will still show as pending, and then a few days later AIB again deducts €10, so you pay twice! Thieves with Briefcases!

This is a fantastic app. **One feature that is needed on the app is the ability to be able to order a paper statement. They have to ring up to order a one of statement and then to have to ring again to cancel further paper statement is ridiculous. This should be a simple process done on the app.**

31/7/2026: I am using the new AIB app. I just moved two sums between my current account and my savings account. Now I can't see these movements listed under my current account. I don't like this lack of overview. The old AIB app would have displayed the payments. I have had to log in to the AIB web login, via a browser, to be able to see the movements. - Poor new AIB app design!

Very poor app, old one was better. No quick balance, can't see my list of direct debits, can't log in with fingerprint. Cheap and not fit for purpose app made with AI.
