Description
ASDetect enables parents and caregivers to review possible early signs of autism in their children aged younger than 2 ½ years. With actual clinical videos of children with and without autism, each question focuses on a specific ‘social communication’ behaviour, for example, pointing, social smiling.
This award-winning app** is based on comprehensive, rigorous, world-class research conducted at the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre at La Trobe University, Australia. The research underlying this app has proven 81% -83% accurate in the early detection of autism.
Assessments take only 20-30 minutes, and parents can review their answers before submitting.
As autism and related conditions can develop over time, the app contains 3 assessments: for children aged 12, 18 and 24 months.
Our early autism detection method is the most effective technique available to professionals to monitor early signs of autism and since ASDetect launched in 2015, this method has also helped thousands of families.

I had a vague thought that my son at 18 months was having a flag or two for autism, but was unsure, I found this app, he came out as "highly likely" to be autistic, which surprised me and educated me on other things I was not aware were autistic behaviors and sensitivities. This gave me the confidence to go to my dr, and he was diagnosed a few months after. This meant that he could get supports straight away and avoid being in distressed as he developed. Great job guys!

Fantastic app and very clear, so much easier than trying to figure out what is meant when you can clearly see it

I did the assessment at just before 12 months. It came back as highly likely. The presentation of results was very distressing. Three weeks later my son started clapping and waving, which when I redid the test changed his assessment to low likelihood. It was a horrible experience and totally unnecessary. The app could be improved by factoring in age more sensibly, providing some kind of support when high likelihood comes back and changing how the information is presented.

My kids are suspected to be on the spectrum. It runs in the family, and I am
a bonefide aspersion. Tests I grew up doing were not so black and white
answers as being on the spectrum means there are shades in between. This
app says my kids aren't at risk but if when I was tested, if the answers
were so generic and yes or no, I would have not fit the bill either. For
parents who might not know better, this over simplified test could give
them the false idea their child is not at risk of being on the spectrum and
could cause them to decide not to seek further help. Also, some kids show
signs later than older children or the sings aren't as easily noticeable
until after kids start school. While I know your focus is on younger
children, it would be a great idea to expand to be able to add kids older
to help assess as well as compare siblings who may be older. I hope you
take my review into serious consideration because I have high hopes for
your app!
