I have read the Statesman faithfully for 22 years and the app makes it so much easier than paper. No more papers that pile up either. The Statesman reporting is TOPS.

I use the app, and the printed version at home. The app is very convenient on the go, in doctor's office, airport, etc. I can also find archived and related topics to articles I am currently reading in the daily read. Updated articles to those I have read in the delivered copy.

Third try and this version is the worst. Scrolling is broken in many places. Zoom is broken. You literally can't read the comics. It's insane that a newspaper app is THIS bad, unless they simply don't WANT you to read the paper. You can't swipe to the next page. You can't go back. Just X out. You can't go to the next section without five clicks. I PAY for the paper, but ads keep popping up!!! Moving about a page while zoomed is IMPOSSIBLE! Ads cause the screen to jump around while reading.

I don't know whether the lack of serious local news available to subscribers on this app is a reflection of the dearth of local news in general or if for some reason they just don't post all their articles online. (I don't read the paper, so I don't know if there's more news in the hard copy). I do know that I have yet to find a list of stories going back more than a few days. I'm strongly tempted to give up on the Statesman altogether. If anyone knows where they hide the news please let me know!
