I found a cleaner for my elderly mum on the Bark app. DBS checked and my mum is delighted with Yvonne. When my own cleaner advised me that she would be stopping her domestic cleaning and only continuing with her business clients, I again used Bark to find myself a new cleaner. Yvonne, my mums cleaner, also responded to my request, which I thought may have been outside her area. So I personally have found the app really useful and Yvonne got two new clients 😊

I had two painters to paint doors in my bungalow I have to ask them to leave because the work was so terrible there was one of paint all down the doors and when the masking tape was removed there was Paint all the way over my walls my hallway carpet is ruined because it is covered in gloss paint, and I moved to table in my kitchen and marked all the floor which now has to be relayed because the marks will not come off I couldn't have had a worse experience

I'm not a fan of the Bark system. Users have very little control over posted work requests or the ability to filter the responding contractors. There's no way to edit work requests, add additional info, or attach photos once a request has been created. As soon as a request is submitted, you are immediately bombarded with texts & calls from contractors, with no way to review their profiles beforehand. The system is geared to generating leads for the contractors, rather than services for users.

After posting the add a tree person called Peter Love ridge called and came around, he offered to do the job for £600 if we had it done on the day. The work he did was nothing but a total con, he didn't remove any branches he just piled everything up behind my fence and our neighbors, the driveway was blocked, and I had many complaints from my neighbors. I had to order a skip and remove the branches and logs myself. I suffer with prostate cancer, and I'm extremely unwell. What a conartist 😡
