Description
Originally developed in 2005, the Birdata website provided an online platform for volunteers and researchers to enter bird survey data and gain feedback about their surveys. This major revamp of Birdata has allowed us to offer this critical conservation tool in the form of a handy, easy-to-use app.
The Birdata mobile app is intended to facilitate simple data entry in the field on mobile devices and provides basic reporting statistics.
Visit the Birdata web portal (http://birdata.birdlife.org.au) for extended reporting and data management functionality.
Analysis of structured monitoring surveys in Birdata feeds directly into the State of Australia’s Birds report series. These reports are the go-to guide on the status of Australia’s bird populations, designed to inform decision making on land management, and direct conservation and policy that affects Australia’s birds and biodiversity.
Can you use it for Birding lists? Yes. Birdata is primarily a tool for structured monitoring, however you can use Birdata to enter and store birding trip lists (e.g. bird lists which are collected over expanded areas without conforming to scientific standards). Please ensure that data such as this is coded as “Bird List” in the “Survey type” field on the details page.

Great update to Biretta So much more user-friendly than the old version. Long overdue.

Not as user-friendly as the bird week app but still a great tool for conservation. I like the added feature of describing interactions with other birds and breeding activities when applicable, something the bird week app lacks. Filling out site descriptions is not an overly enjoyable experience for the most part but still important I guess. It's nice to have a hobby with importance, and this is a must-have tool for it.

Great app. It would be better to be able to zoom in or make ID photos bigger as the pictures of regularly seen birds are very small when trying to identify birds.

Just like the BirdLife website, the app won't let me log in, nor will it send a password reset email. The website has been like that for years! I'd love to contribute data to BirdLife side by side with my bird lists, but the sad truth is that biretta is a waste of time.

Didn't get past the registration. Terrible intro to this app. The Min 12 character password is a joke. Seeya.

Very glitchy. When I tried logging in originally it wouldn't work. They said to email. I did and had no reply. Waited a week and password reset again. Still doesn't log in. The website still works though. The app just doesn't work.
