Description
Blackbird is a trick-taking family card game played by four players.
Play multiplayer games of Blackbird with two new modes which means double the fun. Play multiplayer games online with players from different parts of the world. Create private tables and play with your friends online.
Blackbird is a game of 4 players involving two teams. Partners sit opposite each other. Game is played clockwise. Deck consists of 41 cards. There are four suits: Black, Green, Red, and Yellow. There are 10 cards in each suit, numbered from 5 to 14. There is one Blackbird card. The Blackbird card is worth 20 points. Each 14 and 10 cards are worth 10 points. Each 5 cards is worth 5 points. The rest of the cards are not worth any points. The 14 numbered cards of any suit is the highest card of that suit followed by the 13 cards down to the 5 cards.
Game is played clockwise. Each player is dealt 9 cards. 5 cards will be kept aside called a Nest. Players have to bid for the points they will make in a round. Bid begins at 70 and the maximum one can bid in a Blackbird game is 120 points. The player who wins the bid will get to decide the trump suit. The bid winner can also exchange the cards from the Nest.
Play starts with the left of the person who took the bid. Player who leads may play any card he/she wishes. All other players must play a card of the same suit as the card lead or play the Blackbird card. If the player doesn’t have any cards of the suit led, he/she may play any card. If the trump suit is lead and the player with the Blackbird card doesn’t have any trump cards, he/she must play the Blackbird card. The player that plays the highest card wins the trick. The trick winner gets to lead the next trick. The player that takes the last trick in a round takes the nest. If there are any point cards in the Nest, the points will go to the trick winner.
If the team which won the bid, fails to make the points they bid, they will get a negative score equivalent to the bid amount. Game continues until one team reaches 300 points.

I love Rook, and I was frustrated at first, but here are some tips for anyone who enjoys the game. The way to work around the kinks is in the bidding. Ex: If you have a great hand but not the Rook, start bidding with 90. If everyone passes, you can bet that it is in the nest. If Is you don't want to take the bid, but want to see if your partner has it (you have a helper hand), bid 85. If partner passes, and you want to set, bid 95. AI won't pass if they have the Rook. Hope this helps.

Frustrating!!! AI is terrible. The partner AI is just throwing down cards with no rhyme or reason. The partner AI is also outbidding me almost every hand. If you play Rook this game will frustrate you to the point of putting your phone through the wall.

Very bad bots. One level bots as a partner. Their bidding is terrible. Their playing is terrible. Why would anyone call a trump color they do not have and the highest bid possible. I am done with this game. It would be a better game if the bots are greatly improved. Use this game as a refresher and then delete it. If you ever played with a partner who did not know how to play or a partner that was just stupid, this is the game for you.
